For many, the excitement of deciding to come to Brazil and teach English can be followed by uncertainty. If you've never taught before, you might be wondering if you can do it.

Almost certainly you can! Let me give you a few reasons why:

You are a native English speaker. You've been speaking English since you were bouncing on daddy's knee.

It's unlikely that you'll be teaching in front of a class. More likely, you'll be doing 1-on-1 tutoring.

Also, teaching is NOT all about teaching grammar, so relax! Yes, you will teach some grammar, but what most students really want is to reduce their accents and to gain fluency.

Now, you will want to have some good materials to help you deliver great lessons. There are a few that I use a lot in my own classes.
